Style guide: Combining men's accessories correctly

They can round off your outfit, underline your own style and give you a visual pleasure: there are many accessories for men – and they make sure that your look is anything but boring. We will show you which seven tips are important when you choose accessories and combine them in the outfit.

  1. First the outfit, then the accessories

As important as accessories are and as much styling leeway they allow you: You should first select the garments for your look and then match the accessories to them. Once you decide which bracelet or belt to wear, it's much harder to choose jeans and a shirt to go with it than the other way around.

So deal with the outfit in the first step and then devote yourself to the accessories. Think about whether you want to set an accent with a statement piece or rather create a discreet addition with a simple watch. In order to be equipped for all occasions and intentions, it is recommended to have enough accessories to choose from. Pay attention to good quality - because regardless of style and occasion: only high-quality accessories ensure a really good look.

  1. Accessories suitable for the occasion

There are occasions when a tie is still considered an indispensable accessory. At other events, you're pretty much out of line with that. Pay attention to your look, whether it is a formal or rather casual date, whether you want to look particularly serious or rather stylish. There are accessories for every style.

  1. The leather should match the leather

You can always wear high-quality leather accessories. The most important thing here is to pay attention to good quality and professional workmanship – but it also depends on the combination of the individual pieces. If your shoes are black, you should also wear a black belt and ideally a black leather bracelet.

  1. Match the metal to each other

It looks similar to leather with metals: make sure, for example, that the belt buckle and watch fit together. A gold-shiny watch, if the belt is made of matte silver? Not a good idea, because this inequality jumps to the eye. If everything fits together, this leads to a harmonious and uniform look.

Jewelry has long ceased to be reserved only for women: even with a noble and casual men's outfit, chains, pearl bracelets or rings make a good impression. They can look discreetly out from under the shirt or sweater or be worn as a statement, for example, if you don't button the shirt completely or roll up the sleeves.

  1. The right watch for the outfit

A watch is rather a means of displaying the time: it can shape your style, it can be a status symbol, it can also serve only as a discreet addition. Whatever you choose, keep in mind that there are many people who check your watch to get an impression of you. If you wear a very expensive model on your wrist, this is a statement. A poorly processed watch can act exactly in the other direction.

Even if there are so many cool accessories that you might all like to include in your look: it is also crucial for your outfit that you know when it is enough. Especially when it comes to jewelry, look carefully to see if a ring with a leather bracelet is too much. Whether the chain is applied too thickly together with a noticeable belt. Or maybe a perfect match?

Take your time to test different options and also get feedback if it is really important that your look fits. The more often you use the pieces consciously and skillfully, the easier it will be for you to spend time with you – and then the right accessories will ensure a really good appearance.
